90210 is a teen American drama which is based in Beverly Hills Californa. The Drama is revolved around several students at the fictional West Beverly Hills High School. It focuses on the students as they each go through problems and troubles in there lives.

The first episode. 'We're not in Kansas anymore'
 In the first episode of 90210 Harrision Wilson accepts his job of being the principle of West Beverly Hills High School. This meant that his wife and two children had to move from Kansas to live with the childrens Grandmother who is bossy and also an alcoholic. The family have to adjust to a new lifestyle living in a totally different environment from living to Kansas to the classy and glamourous Beverly Hills. But was this the right descion?
Annie Wilson is the daughter of Harrison Wilson and Debbie Wilson and Dixon Wilson is the adoptive son.They are both students at the school that their father is the principle of, would this make it harder for them? The first episode is fun and intriging and it makes you want to find out what happens next.



 A few of the main characters:
 Annie Wilson 'Shenae Grimes'
Annie is the daugther of principle Harrison Wilson and is also a student and the high school. Annie is presneted as a warm hearted and clever girl.

Dixon Wilson 'Tristan Wilds'
Dixon is the adoptive son of principle Harrison Wilson and is also a student attenting the high school. In the first episode Dixon gets into trouble when he gets into a brief fight when he played a lacrosse practise game at school where he was assulted by a fellow player called George. This gives the audeince an impression that Dixon may cause and be involved in trouble in future episodes.

Naomi Clark 'AnnaLynne McCord'
Naomi is a student at West Beveryly Hills High. She is presented as one of the most popular girls in school who has alot of money and is known by everyone.'Ethan Ward' is her boyfriend and they break up in the first episode because he cheated on her. Namoi is a girl who could cause a lot of trouble and this is shown in the first episode as she is mischievious.

History:
Beverly Hills 90210 first aired from October 4th 1990 to May 17th 2000. Then started again in 2008 to 2013 with a more modernised look. The series got very popular during the summer of 1991 when Fox aired a special 'summer season' of the show while most other series were in returns. My response to the first epsiode 'We're not in Kansas anymore'
After watching the first episode of 90210 I really did love it and I couldnt wait to watch the next one. All of the characters are really interesting but Naoimi Clarke who is played by AnnaLynne McCord stood out for me the most. She is presented as an interesting fiesty charcter who could maybe cause trouble and drama in the future episodes. I also like Annie Wilson who is played by Shenae Grimes, she comes across as really sweet and innocent and I think the role she has to play suits her perfectly. In my opinion I think that the show is defintaly aimed at teenage girls, anyone under the age of 12 personally I dont think should watch it because they do use some inaproppiate language.

Media Representation

Definition:

Representation is a key concept in media education. It is understanding the difference between what is real and what is represented and its vital to our understanding of any media text. Representation is concerened with the way that people, ideas and events are presented to us. It is not possible for the media to present the world as it really is because the media constructs meanings about the world and they change what really is there.

My definition:
 From what I have researched about media representation I have understood that representation is the media represent people and other types of people. 

Three resources I found most interesting/helpful and why

Below are the three resources which i found intriguing and helpful when i was creating my first ever blog for the media bridging unit.

1.)  Firstly, the resource which i found very helpful was 'Guardian Story'  this helped me because I wouldnt have known where to get any of the different articles from the guardian so I was happy when I found the hyperlink to the various article. I also found it interesting browsing through the guardian website to find alot of artciles that I could write about but the one I chose I enjoyed reading the most.

2.)  The next resource which I found useful was 'Your AS Media Bridging Unit' this is because it gave me a good insight on what was involved in the course for instance the exam criteria. It has made me more aware and excited about what is to come in year 12.

3.) Lastly, the third resource which I found most interesting and helpful was 'Name of Tv drama you have watched' this resource gave me a good idea of what is expected when you use the word TV drama. It also gave me a good example of a tv drama which helped me when I had to write about another one in my bridging unit.
